MINISTRY PLAN & LENTEN REFLECTION 04/06/2011
Peace and grace be with you all this Lenten Season in the name or our Lord, Jesus Christ. As many of you are aware, this January I attended Youth and Family Ministry Certification School. It was an amazing experience where I gained a lot of knowledge, ideas, and information to better the Y&F Ministry Program at Emanuel's. Part of the certification school process is to develop a Ministry Plan for our church to illustrate how I intend to use what I have learned. I have done a lot of reflecting, observing, conversing, and praying. I am now in the creating phase of this process. Honestly, I think it is quite appropriate that the creating is occurring during Lent. What better time to reflect and contemplate the evolution of our church and congregation? When this plan is complete (early May) it will be available in the church office for anyone who is interested in reading it. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, ideas, impressions, and reactions. As cliché as it may sound, I truly believe that Youth and Family Ministry is the future of any congregation and it is a joy to lead a ministry task force that truly acknowledges and embraces this truth. I invite you to join me on this evolving journey of discipleship. Yours in Peace, ~Ariel Add Comment RISING TO THE OCCASION 02/17/2011
I wanted to say a HUGE "THANK YOU" to everyone who helped clean-up the recent flood in the Fellowship Hall & Youth Room. I don’t want to start listing names because I fear I would leave someone off the list. I do specifically want to thank our 20+ youth and their parents who rallied that morning to get the job cleaned up and the early service ushers who were incredibly helpful in locating extension cords, brooms, mops, and who also pitched in and helped with the cleanup effort. Everyone took a bad situation and dealt with it with grace and class and got the job done. Peace and thanks to all of you!!! It is very heartening to see youth and adults alike banding together and rising to the occasion. Yours in Peace, ~Ariel PHIL 4:13 A New Year! 01/26/2011
Grace and peace be with you all this new year! Despite my best efforts I have failed abysmally at maintaining my BLOG. I hope to do MUCH better this year! As many of you know I recently returned from Vibrant Faith Ministries Youth and Family Certification School. It was truly an AMAZING and life-changing experience. I want to thank each and every one of you for contributing and making it possible for me to have gone. I have so much new knowledge and so many new ideas that at times I feel overwhelmed. I was I am currently preparing my first of many projects to begin to integrate into our Emanuel's ministry culture. More information will be coming very soon. Again... thank you all for your continued support. Yours in Peace, ~Ariel SYNOD JR. HIGH GATHERING 11/10/2010
This past weekend we had 11 Confirmation students attend the Synod Jr. High Gathering. We sang, participated in bible studies and worship, got to know other churches and each other better, hiked, played, and had an overall AWESOME time! Thank you to everyone at Emanuel's for making it possible for our youth to attend this event. Pictures from the trip will be posted soon! Don't forget that this Sunday (Nov. 14th) both ELYO and Confirmation will be making Christmas Cards to send to our shut-ins. We have around 100 cards to make, so bring your creativity with you. Friends are welcome and lunch will be provided! I look forward to seeing you all there! Yours in Peace, ~Ariel UPCOMING EVENTS 10/19/2010
This weekend we have two events. The first is Bowling with the Pastor for our Confirmation and ELYO students. Please meet at Sportswest Family Fun Center - 308 Hwy 46S, Seguin at 12:00p. Pizza and drinks will be provided. The second event is our annual Polka Service. The service will be held at 5:00p in the Sanctuary with a sausage supper following in the Fellowship Hall. Youth, our help has been requested with the clean-up following the supper. Yours in Peace, ~Ariel Busy Weekend!!! 10/05/2010
This was a very busy weekend for Youth and Family Events! On Saturday the Confirmation and ELYO youth participated in Seguin's Second Annual Kids Day in the Park. We hosted a free Face Painting booth and madly painted children's faces and handed out fun bands for about 4 hours. We had a lot of fun and the children who attended all seemed to appreciate and enjoy the event. Sunday during the 10:30am church service the Emanuel's Day School children sang. Their energy and enthusiasm was absolutely wonderful!!! Sunday afternoon we held the Blessing of the Animals Service. 17 dogs and 2 Komodo Dragons were in attendance. Again, it was a wonderful service and all who attended seemed to really enjoy themselves. I can gladly report that there were no animal fights that afternoon! Pictures of all three events will be posted very soon. I apologize that some of the pictures are less than clear. I took them with my iPhone. Yours in Peace, ~Ariel Greetings! 10/01/2010
